People For Bikes: Hungry for Batteries

PeopleForBikes is the U.S. bicycle industry’s trade association and a national advocacy nonprofit representing more than 325 bicycle industry supplier members and nearly 1.4 million individuals. The bike industry came together as the first transportation industry to establish a battery recycling program to reduce negative impacts on our planet by removing e-bike batteries from our waste streams. This new program, powered by Call2Recycle and endorsed by PeopleForBikes, has already recycled more than 36,000 pounds of batteries. Watts is a lovable, hungry monster with an insatiable appetite for electric bicycle batteries.
Their young human friend Rey cares about conscious actions and protecting the planet.
Together, Rey believes they can turn negative impulses - like trashing batteries - into positive actions like battery recycling. They set out to make a positive change by scouring the country for e-bike batteries to consume and eliminate from our waste streams.
